“Stories of the World by Anant Dayal” – An Oral Storytelling Workshop
Stories heal. Stories make us dream of better worlds. Stories set us free. Come learn how to tell stories at our introductory workshop to Storytelling by the multi talented Performer/ Musician Anant Dayal.
Develop the craft of oral storytelling, with emphasis on voice, body language, rhythm and music.
Dive into the fascinating world of myth and legend, epic and folklore.
Find inspiration in these ancient tales to create performances for contemporary times.

Workshop Details:
16th July – 21st july, 4 hour sessions
– Voice and Body warm ups
– Storytelling tools and techniques: vocal, physical, musical
– Reading and interpreting texts: myths, legends, folktales
– A presentation/showing/sharing at the end of the workshop where you invite your friends, family and more to come watch.

About the Facilitator:
As an educator, ANANT DAYAL, has taught the Speech & Drama, and Performance Arts Programs of Trinity College of London for several years and has in recent times been responsible for creating and running several performance based programs for One World College of Music.
He has over the years worked in the fields of theatre, music, visual design and performance education. His recent projects as a storyteller-musician include the infamous “Spirit of the Willow Tree”- a solo piece based on a Japanese folk tale, that was performed during the first edition of the d.r.i.f.t. festival in 2017, and “The legend of Ila”- a musical retelling of a story from the Puranas. He has also been part of Barefoot Theatre’s ensemble productions “Three Hearings on the Existence of Snakes in the Human Bloodstream” and “Songs from Snakes” as musical director and Performer.
Anant also plays the accordion with the band “Blue Breakfast.”
